General Policies

These are Enginekitor.com's standard return policies and apply only to products purchased directly from the Enginekitor.com website.

We accept return requests within 30 days of delivery. Returned items must be unused, unassembled, and in original condition with all original packaging, accessories, manuals, cables, and other items originally included with the product.

If the product arrives damaged, defective, broken, or does not work before use, please contact us within the 30-day return period. In eligible cases, Enginekitor will cover the return shipping costs. If only some parts are damaged during shipping, Enginekitor will normally send replacement parts free of charge.

In most cases, products are eligible for return authorization within the 30-day return period. If the return is due to a customer purchasing error, a change of mind, or not liking the product after purchase, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs. The item must be new, unused, unassembled, and suitable for resale. Otherwise, the return request may be refused.

Items not eligible for return

If we receive a product that is not eligible for return, we may return the non-eligible product to you at your expense.

Non-eligible items include:

Any item not purchased from Enginekitor.com.
Any item without a valid, readable serial number, including products with missing, damaged, altered, or unreadable serial numbers.
Packages delivered more than 30 days ago.
Items returned without all original packaging and accessories, including retail boxes, manuals, cables, and all other items originally included with the product.
Any item that appears physically damaged due to accidental breakage, misuse, improper personal use, or general wear and tear.

Please use a traceable shipping method when returning an item. Enginekitor.com is not responsible for lost return shipments.

The RMA process in three simple steps

1. Obtain RMA authorization
Please email an RMA request to service@enginekitor.com. We will respond within 1-2 business days. The request should include your order number, SKU, reason for return, photos or videos if applicable, and whether you prefer an exchange or refund.

2. Ship returned items after authorization
After RMA authorization is granted, return the item to the address provided by the Enginekitor.com Customer Service Center. The returned item must include the original packaging, accessories, and RMA authorization. Please provide the return tracking number.

3. Exchange or refund
Enginekitor will arrange a replacement or refund within 1-3 business days after receiving and inspecting the returned package. Refunds are issued to the original payment method and may take 3-5 business days to appear. If you have not received your refund after 5 business days, please contact us at service@enginekitor.com.

Model Engine Building FAQ

Common questions about building, assembling and operating model engines, from beginner mechanical kits to real miniature combustion engines.

Do model engine kits actually work?

Yes. Some model engine kits use real combustion systems powered by gasoline, nitro or other specified fuels, while others use electric motors to demonstrate piston, crankshaft, valve, gear or turbine movement. Always check the specifications of the individual engine model before operation.

Can beginners build a model engine?

Yes. Many mechanical engine models are suitable for beginners who can follow assembly instructions carefully and work patiently with small components. More advanced combustion engines may require additional experience with ignition, fuel delivery, cooling systems, timing and mechanical adjustment.

What is the difference between a mechanical engine model and a real working engine?

A mechanical engine model demonstrates engine structure and movement using an electric motor or manual rotation. A real working miniature engine produces its own power through combustion and may require fuel, ignition, cooling, lubrication and tuning. Both can demonstrate engine mechanics, but the operating experience and difficulty are very different.

What tools do I need to build a model engine?

Most engine model kits can be assembled with precision screwdrivers, hex keys, small wrenches, pliers and other basic hand tools. Advanced combustion engine projects may also require equipment for ignition, fuel delivery, cooling or startup. Always follow the instructions supplied with the specific model.

How long does it take to assemble a model engine?

Assembly time depends on the engine design, number of components and the builder's experience. A simpler mechanical engine model may take several hours, while a detailed multi-cylinder or advanced engine kit may require multiple building sessions. Careful assembly is more important than completing the project quickly.

What should I check before operating a completed model engine?

Before operation, manually check that the crankshaft, pistons, valves, gears and other moving components operate freely. Confirm that fasteners, wiring, tubing, timing, cooling and ignition systems are installed correctly according to the manufacturer's instructions. Never force a mechanism that shows unusual resistance.

Are gasoline engine models harder to build?

Generally, yes. A real miniature gasoline engine may involve fuel delivery, ignition timing, cooling and operating adjustments in addition to mechanical assembly. For this reason, combustion engine models are usually better suited to builders with some mechanical experience.

What type of model engine is best for learning how an engine works?

A piston engine with visible crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, valves and timing components is an excellent choice for understanding basic engine mechanics. Builders who are interested in aviation can instead choose turbine or jet engine models to study compressor, turbine and rotational systems.
